Over the past day, the pro-Russian militants in Donbas 51 times violated the ceasefire in the area of the anti-terrorist operation. There were no casualties among Ukrainian troops. In a Monday release, the ATO press center noted that Ukrainian troops returned on several occasuions.
"While until recently the enemy mostly used small arms and light weapons, in the past few days militants fire mortars of various calibers. The enemy activity has visible escalated in the sector of Luhansk, which previously had been relatively quiet," the statement reads.
In the Donetsk sector, militants after dark several times fired grenade launchers and small arms on the ATO positions in Avdiyivka, Mayorske, and Verhnyotoretske. The outskirts of Zaitseve and Pisky were shelled from IFV weapons. At around 21:00, Novoluhanske has been subjected to an hour of shelling. In additions to grenade launchers and small arms the enemy used 82-mm mortar.
In the coastal sector, militants twice fired at Ukrainian positions in the area of Shyrokyne from the mortars of various calibers. The enemy also fired grenades at ATO outposts near Talakivka, Lebedynske, Pavlopil, and Maryinka.
In Luhansk sector, militants after dark twice pounded the outskirts of Krymske from grenade launchers, and from 82-mm mortar - Novotoshkivske.
In the previous day, Russia-backed militant groups waged 41 shelling attacks on the ATO positions in Donbas. One Ukrainian trooper man was killed and another one was wounded in shelling.
