A Kyiv Court on 4 September arrested a whole range of assets, including factory building Biola in Dnipro and a Kyiv building rented by the broadcasting company Studio 1+1, in the case of embezzlement in Privatbank.
Prosecutor-General's Office is investigating the embezzlement of 19 bn hryvnia that the government had allocated to bail out ailing Privatbank. The prosecution asked the court to arrest numerous objects of property owned by companies related to the former owners of the now nationalized bank.
The national anti-graft agency NABU is investigating top managers in the National Bank of Ukraine and Privatbank for the suspected 100-bn hryvnia embezzlement of funds allocated for the recapitalization of privatbank.
Last December, Privatbank passed into public ownership.
