Over the past day, the Russia-backed occupying forces have violated the ceasefire in Donbas 28 times. The antiterrorist operation (ATO) troops returned fire on 13 occasions.

One Ukrainian soldier was killed and two were wounded in combat.

The ATO HQ said on 15 September that the situation at the front had somewhat exacerbated by the end of the previous day but remained under the control of Ukrainian forces. After 6 p.m., the militants stepped up attacks against the ATO positions in all the sectors, using 82-mm mortars.

It was the hottest in the Mariupol (Maritime) sector. In the area of Vodyane, Russian mercenaries three times opened fire with grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. They fired seven 82-mm mortar bombs at Maryinka and targeted ATO forces on the outskirts of Pavlopil, Talakivka and Hnutove.

It was not quiet in the Donetsk sector, where the militants pounded ATO troops near Zaytseve with mortars and IFV weapons, and on two occasions targeted Avdiyivka's industrial zone using rocket-propelled grenades. At about 9 p.m., the enemy began an attack against the Ukrainian positions near the Butivka coalmine, the ATO forces returned fire. One Ukrainian serviceman was killed in the shootout.

After almost a week's silence in the Luhansk sector, in the evening and at night the Russia-sponsored militants fired six times with mortars, various types of grenade launchers and small arms against the strongpoints of the Ukrainian forces near Krymske.

On 13 September, Donbas militants 25 times opened fire on the strongpoints of the Ukrainian army. One Ukrainian serviceman was wounded in an attack.
