Prominent Ukrainian philosopher Dr Myroslav Popovych, 87, died on 10 February, the vice-principal of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Volodymyr Buhrov, has said on Facebook.
He was a member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Popovych was born in Zhytomyr on 12 April 1930. He was an honoured scientist, teacher, and expert in the history of the Ukrainian culture. He had a PhD in philosophy. He was the director of the Hryhoriy Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, headed its department of logic and methodology of science.
