One Ukrainian serviceman was killed and two wounded in combat in Donbas on 17 April, the antiterrorist operation (ATO) HQ press centre has said in its evening update.
By 6 p.m., pro-Russian militants have carried out 21 attacks, including with heavy weapons.
In the Luhansk sector, they fired with 152-mm artillery near Zaytseve and 120-mm mortars near Troyitske. They also used 120-mm mortars near Hnutove in the Donetsk sector, 82-mm mortars near Novotroyitske.
Engagements also took place near Luhanske, Avdiivka, the Butivka mine, Pavlopil, Vodyance, Opytne and Shyrokyne.
Active combat actions have resumed in Ukraine since early spring, with shooting attacks reaching dozens per day.
Two attempts to introduce a ceasefire failed.
