Ukraine and Israel have signed an agreement on free trade. The ceremony took place after President Petro Poroshenko's meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The document was signed by Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Stepan Kubiv and acting Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Eli Cohen.
According to the Ukrainian president's website, the purpose of the agreement is to create the legal framework for the liberalization of the markets for industrial and agricultural products of the parties.
The agreement will promote the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the countries, allow domestic producers to benefit from the liberalization of the Israeli goods market, open up opportunities for both the expansion of markets and development and modernization of production in Ukraine.
