President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should invite lawyers specialising in constitutional law and public administration to his team, Semen Gluzman, a human rights and public activist, has said at a roundtable discussion organised by Gorshenin Institute.
"When they tell us – and we buy this – that there are excellent lawyers in Zelenskyy's entourage who, like he, graduated from the law faculty of a university, it is a half-argument in fact. It is like in healthcare, there are various specialists. There are dentists, gynecologists, and they do not swap jobs, everyone does their own job which they can do," Gluzman said.
In his opinion, Zelenskyy needs to review his entourage.
"There may be good people in Zelenskyy's entourage. I know none of them. There are businessmen and lawyers, it is excellent. This assures the president that they will not let him down. But it is really very important that he has people close to him or at some distance who know an absolutely different area of law, which is the most important for us today. Even the best lawyer can hardly help the new president manage the state," Gluzman said.
