A large arms cache has been found near an abandoned house in Novoaydar District of Luhansk Region, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has said.
It suggested that Russian mercenaries from the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic were planning to use it for terrorist acts in the government-controlled territory.
The cache had 16 OF-36 120-mm mortar bombs banned by the Minsk agreements, 11 handheld anti-tank grenade launchers RPG-22, three hand grenades RKG-37, 66 VOG-17 grenades for automatic grenade launchers, an anti-personnel landmine MON-50, 44 F-1 and RGD-5 grenades, 12 boxes with cartridges of various calibre, fuses and improvised explosive devices.
A criminal case was opened over arms and ammunition storage.
