Gorshenin Institute will host a roundtable discussion on "How to strengthen Ukraine's intelligence agencies" on Wednesday, 4 September. The event will begin at 11 a.m.

The discussion is organised by Gorshenin Institute and Ukrainian Security Studies Institute (USSI).

Points for discussion:

  1. Ways to reform intelligence agencies.
  2. Legislative changes: which fundamental positions should be reflected in relevant laws. Specifics of the work of a future relevant committee.
  3. Creation of an intelligence community: the Ukrainian way.

Participants in the roundtable:

Valentyn Badrak, director of the Centre for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies, a board member of the Ukrainian Security Studies Institute

Valeriy Kondratyuk, chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate at the Defence Ministry (2014-2016), deputy head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine (2016-2019)

Vadym Skibitskyy, official representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate at the Defence Ministry

Oleksandr Skipalskyy, vice-president of the Centre for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies, chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate at the Defence Ministry (1992-1997), deputy chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (2007).
