President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has dismissed Prosecutor-General Yuriy Lutsenko and appointed Ruslan Ryaboshapka to the post on parliament's consent.
Zelenskyy also dismissed Ryaboshapka from the post of a deputy head of the presidential office.
A former member of the National Agency for Preventing Corruption, Ruslan Ryaboshapka, was a leading specialist in law enforcement and anticorruption policy at Zelenskyy's election HQ.
Yuriy Lutsenko was appointed prosecutor-general from 12 May 2016 after parliament passed the law allowing people without legal education or prosecutorial experience to occupy the post.
