President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed the law which seeks to prevent MPs from voting for others in their absence, his office has said.
The new law amends the Criminal Code, the law "On the status of MP" and parliament's regulations.
MPs voting for others in their absence risk a fine of three to five untaxable minimum incomes (51,000-85,000 hryvnyas or 2,100-3,550 dollars).
The law comes into effect on the next day after its publication.
