President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has instructed the government to ensure the functioning of over 200 reception wards of emergency medical aid, the presidential office has said.
“We have very many hospitals all over Ukraine. And we have found the money which the [health] ministry had not had. And 220 basic hospitals will be repaired by the end of this year. And this is just the beginning, and people will certainly see this,” he told journalists in Boryspil, Kyiv Region.
Health Minister Zoryana Skaletska said, for her part that all hospitals that sign contracts with the National Health Service will be financed to deliver medical services.
“We are talking about a total of 72bn hryvnyas which we transferred to the National Health Service to pay for medical services,” she said.
She added that the creation of basic hospitals does not mean that other medical establishments will be closed. These will be multi-profile hospitals which will administer emergency aid and have specialists of various profiles.
