The Cabinet of Ministers gas stepped up COVID-19 coronavirus prevention measures in Ukraine, Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk has said after a meeting of the crisis centre.
According to the government decision, all travelers arriving from countries with the registered cases of the coronavirus will have their body temperature checked as of 8 p.m. on 24 February.
Temperature screening will be carried out with regard to all passengers at Ukraine’s key airports and as of 8 a.m. on 25 February at the Tysa checkpoint in Transcarpathian Region. The practice will then be extended to all other checkpoints.
“The health care system of Ukraine is absolutely prepared to render aid to all who suddenly reveal symptoms of the disease. Respective infection brigades have been prepared. They are equipped with all the necessary sanitary and epidemiological means,” he said.
Earlier, the World Health Organization provided Ukraine with a COVID-19 coronavirus test system for 900 examinations.
