President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defence Council on the main parameters of the state defence order for 2020-2022.
This is stated in decree No. 59 issued on 27 February.
The document is partially classified.
The Cabinet of Ministers was instructed not to reduce the approved expenditures and ensure funding for priority projects, including the development of missile weapons. The government was also instructed to analyse the implementation of state contracts and the use of state defence order funds in 2019 and take measures to punish officials who failed to ensure the approved parameters.
By 1 June, the Cabinet of Ministers has to submit a strategy for the development of the defence industry to the National Security and Defence Council.
