The Russian embassy in Ukraine is preparing to evacuate its citizens who cannot leave Ukraine on their own after Ukraine has closed the border.
According to the embassy website, the lists of those who want to leave Ukraine are being formed.
"At the moment, the possibility of evacuating Russian citizens is being studied. If this decision is taken, you will be informed in a timely manner," the statement reads.
Russian citizens are asked to contact the consular section of the embassy.
Due to the spread of the coronavirus, Ukraine closed its state border checkpoints for aviation, rail and bus services as of midnight on 17 March.
