The Health Ministry of Ukraine has confirmed that the woman who died in Chernivtsi last night had the COVID-19 coronavirus.
It also noted that seven new cases of the virus had been registered over 24 hours.
As of 8 p.m. on 17 March, Ukraine had 14 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including two lethal ones: Chernivtsi Region (10), Zhytomyr Region (1), Kyiv Region (1) and Kyiv (2).
A 44-year-old resident of Kyiv Region, who recently was abroad, was diagnosed with coronavirus today.
Six more fresh cases were registered in Chernivtsi Region: a 33-year-old woman (lethal case), and individuals aged 31,10 and 18 years and children aged one year and 10 months and another one six months of age. The Health Ministry said that they all contacted the earlier confirmed patient.
The first coronavirus death happened in Zhytomyr Region on 13 March.
