He took part in a meeting of the EPP before the debate in the European Parliament on the situation in Ukraine. Petro Poroshenko also called for assistance in resolving the issue of Ukraine's accession to the European Union under a special procedure. He also said that it is important to provide our country with a NATO Membership Action Plan.
"The EU must immediately begin the process of pre-accession negotiations with Ukraine. They should provide our country with strong financial and economic assistance to rebuild the destroyed infrastructure," said the fifth president.
We can remind, that the day before the president Vladimir Zelensky signed the application for accession to the EU. Today the Permanent Representative of France, who holds the presidency of the European Union Council, got this application and took it into consideration.
