The National Police of Ukraine have documented a war crime by the Russian Federation when its troops shelled the centre of Mariupol, the Interior Ministry has said on Facebook.

"Preliminary reports show one person killed, three people wounded. The Police worked on sight. Several buildings and school #16 had been ruined. Besides, residential area of Livoberezhnyy district has been repeatedly exposed to invaders' fire, as well as the territory of municipal enterprise "Komunalnyk," police reported.

Currently, criminal proceedings were instituted in line with article 438 of Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the warfare rules).

Today, March 1, Mariupol is under fire from Russian invading troops. This was reported by the head of the Donetsk military-civilian administration Pavlo Kyrylenko. "The Rushists [Russian troops] are deliberately destroying critical and municipal infrastructure facilities: one of the salvos they fired at the municipal enterprise "Komunalnyk", jeopardizing the city's facilities that provide the city's viability," Kyrylenko informed.
