The Russian army continues its attack against Ukraine, but as of 16 March 2022, the enemy has not achieved any of the strategic goals of the attack entirely.

In the Volyn direction, the Russian occupation forces, with the full support of the military and political authorities of the Republic of Belarus, continue to actively use its territory to deploy missile systems, launch missile strikes on Ukraine and organize all types of troops supply. "To obtain intelligence information, Belarusian intelligence agencies are surveying citizens crossing the Ukrainian-Belarusian border," the headquarters said.
In the Polissya direction, the Russians continue to focus mainly on intelligence and try to organize a counter-battery fire. The enemy has no significant success. During the war actions, units of the 36th Combined Arms Army of the Eastern Military District suffered substantial losses in personnel and equipment. They were forced to mobilize reserves earlier than was planned.
There are no active attack actions of the enemy in the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions. Instead, the invaders are trying to gain a foothold in the previously occupied borders, regroup and replenish supplies.
The enemy does not stop trying to advance south of the city of Izyum, probably to continue the attack in the direction of Sloviansk. However, the enemy also has no success there.
In the Pivdenny Buh area, the Russian occupiers continue to try to gain a foothold in their positions. After the attack on the Kherson airfield, which is temporarily under enemy control, by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the occupiers are trying to relocate the military vehicles and equipment that survived.
Also, the headquarters reported that ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet continue blocking navigation in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia's losses in the full-scale war against Ukraine have already exceeded 13,500 personnel. Russia also lost 404 tanks and 1,279 military armored combat vehicles. In addition, the enemy had the number of artillery systems reduced by 150 units, missile systems of volley fire - by 64 units, air defense systems - by 36 units.
Also, Russia has 81 aircraft, 95 helicopters, 640 vehicles, three ships or boats, 60 fuel tanks, and nine operational and tactical drones less than it used to. In addition, data on enemy losses are being clarified, as the high intensity of was actions complicates the calculation.
