In the Kherson region, Russian occupiers have kidnapped the head of Hola Prystan city Oleksandr Babych. An official criminal proceeding has been initiated upon the fact of kidnapping.
“Under the leadership of the Kherson regional prosecutor general’s office, a criminal proceeding has been initiated upon the fact of violating the law of war (part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the message says.
This is reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General’s office.
According to the investigation, on 28 March, threatening with firearms, the military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces kidnapped the head of the Hola Prystan city council. They are keeping him hostage.
Ukrainian law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of the kidnapping and who is involved in the crime.
Apart from that, on 29 March kidnapping of the head of Mylove amalgamated territorial community Oleh Yahnienko was reported in the Kherson RMA.
Before that, on 21 March the unknown kidnapped the head of Beryslav of the Kherson region Oleksandr Shapovalov.
As of 25 March, the Russian military had captured 14 heads of cities.
