The State Emergency Service has shown the consequences of the shelling of food warehouses in Brovary in the Kyiv region.
As the acting head of the State Emergency Service in Kyiv region Petro Kiselyov noted, there were no casualties as a result of the large-scale fire caused by the shelling, but the company suffered severe losses.
"Behind me you can see racks that were 100% filled with food. Now it’s only their remains. 80% of the products we have already taken out, they are totally affected by smoke and unfit for human consumption. They were simply disposed of," said the rescuer.
According to him, the completely filled with food warehouse was struck from missile systems. Not a single rocket fell into nearby warehouses, which are 10% full.
"This was a campaign to destroy food. You see, in the Kiev region, all oil depots are being destroyed, wholesale warehouses with food for the population. Everything is being prepared to create a humanitarian catastrophe," said Petro Kiselyov.
Brovary mayor Ihor Sapozhko clarified that the warehouses stored food products of absolutely all chain stores in Ukraine: Fozzy Food, ATB, Silpo, etc.
"Yesterday we put out the fire, and today we are starting to dismantle the blockages, it is still smoldering, engaged in wind. The first seven days the fire was extinguished. But even after that shelling, there were still shelling with cluster bombs. Then a warehouse worker was injured’, the mayor of Brovary said.
In addition, according to the State Emergency Service, today, March 29, at 4:05 pm, a fire broke out in a warehouse building in Brovary district as a result of an enemy shell.
At 6 pm the fire was localized in an area of 20 thousand square meters..
