Over 170 people were evacuated from the steel plant Azovstal and other localities around Mariupol, reports the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
They have reached Zapotichya, where they are receiving emergency medical aid.
In total, over 600 people were evacuated thanks to the operation led by the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
"We know that a significant number of people couldn't join evacuation convoys in recent days. We will keep cooperating with the belligerent parties to reach people in desperate need of humanitarian assistance everywhere in Ukraine and ensure that those willing could safely leave in the direction of their choice," says the statement.
On 7 May, the Minister of the Reintegration of the Occupied Territories, Iryna Vereschuk, reported that all women, children, and seniors had been evacuated from Azovstal.
