Since 24 February, the operational environmental staff has been daily documenting and processing the damage which the environment suffered as a result of russians invaders' actions. 231 rf's ecological crimes in Ukraine and the waters of the Black sea have been documented already.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources reports this on its website.

According to the statement, the most ecocide cases were documented in the Kyiv (34), Donetsk (27), and Dnipropetrovsk (22) regions.

Missile attacks cause massive fires at the critical infrastructure objects, first of all, oil storages and chemical plants. That inflicts significant damage on the ecosystems, leads to pollution of the environment, and reduction of plant and animal species populations.

"Since the first day of the war, the Ministry of ecology together with its subordinate executive bodies and ecology activists has been documenting ecological crimes of russists and calculates damage according to special methods. This information will complete the total basket of the losses caused by russia's military actions which the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine is forming for the preparation of lawsuit to the International Criminal Court," – the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ruslan Strilets stated.

The operational staff at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has started collecting and generalizing information on the environmental damage caused by the occupiers.
