23,5 thousand kilometers of roads and 289 road bridges – Kubrakov

As a result of the russian occupiers' full-scale military aggression, Ukraine has suffered significant losses in road infrastructure. In particular, because of the war, 23 573 kilometers of roads and 289 road bridges were damaged.

The Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov reported this during the "Europe of the Carpathians" International Conference in the Polish city Krasiczyn.

According to Kubrakov, russian forces are purposefully destroying the civil infrastructure of Ukraine, the amount of the documented damage has already reached 90bn dollars and is growing daily.

"Considering this, we are forced to quickly restructure our logistics system. We're currently working on ensuring cargo delivery chains, changing the directions of trade flows because of the Ukrainian seaports blockade and the loss of nearly 23% of the railway network," – he mentioned.

The Minister named the general losses of the Ukrainian road infrastructure: 23 573 kilometers of roads, 6,3 thousand kilometers of main railway tracks, 289 road bridges, and 41 railway bridges are damaged.

Kubrakov thanked international partners for simplification of humanitarian and other cargo delivery as well as for liberalization of transportation in general.

"We already have cancellation of passage permits for carriers, also a number of logistics hubs are operating in Poland for efficient transportations management. I'm sure that with such support the victory is inevitable," – the Ministry of Infrastructure head emphasized.

As Oleksandr Kubrakov has noted before, the destroyed transport infrastructure can be restored within two years and rebuilding of its main objects can take one year.
