Every day Ukraine loses 50 defenders in the war against the Russian invasion. This is a fifth of Russia's daily losses, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said in an interview with Ouest France.
Total losses are higher because they include civilians in addition to the military, the president noted.
He added that one should be very careful with the figures because these are human lives one is talking about.
On 1 June, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine was losing 60-100 servicemen every day. On 10 June, an adviser to the head of the presidential office, Mykhaylo Podolyak, said that the losses amounted to 100-200 people per day. As of early August, Podolyak estimated the number of military losses at 30-50 people a day.
Meanwhile, Russia loses 200 and more troops every day.
