Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov had a phone conversation with U.S. Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin. They discussed the current situation at the frontline and the sixth Ramstein-format meeting scheduled for October 12, the minister’s Twitter account states.
"I had a phone call with Lloyd Austin. We discussed updates from the front line, Ramstein-6, and ways of strengthening our capabilities. Good news to be announced soon. Lloyd Austin confirmed that the United States does not recognize "referendums" in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine," he wrote.
The minister also emphasized that the Ukrainian army will continue to use weapons to de-occupy our land.
The US-led contact group on Ukraine's defence will next meet on 12 October in Brussels, ahead of the meeting of NATO Defence Ministers scheduled for 13 October.
