Russian soldiers in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine began to kill their commanders, the spokesman for the head of the Odesa regional military administration, Serhiy Bratchuk, has said on Telegram.

According to him, the incident occurred in the Kherson area. Russian soldiers decided that their commander was bad and wanted to surrender to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"He said 'I will not let you. You must die for Mother Russia.' Well, they decided that they would rather not die themselves, but kill this commander and surrender to the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Bratchuk said.

More than 2,000 Russian soldiers and their relatives contacted the "I Want to Live" project for guidance on how they can surrender to the Ukrainian military and stay alive.
