British Foreign Minister James Cleverly has announced a new aid package for Ukraine. It includes allocating more than 50 million pounds for defence and three million to help restore infrastructure, according to the British government website.
The UK also allocates 5 million pounds for Ukraine's initiative to deliver grain to countries on the verge of famine.
“The visit comes as Russia tries to exploit the harsh winter in Ukraine by continuing its brutal attacks on the country’s civilian and energy infrastructure to exacerbate the ongoing humanitarian crisis,” the government said.
The package includes additional 35 emergency vehicles, including 6 armoured ones, and the UK will also help with demining.
“The UK stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine. I have today announced a package of hands-on support for our Ukrainian friends in their fight, from ambulances to crucial support for survivors of the sexual violence carried out by the Russian military,” Cleverly said.
Cleverly travelled to Ukraine just days after the country's new Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, made his first visit to Kyiv and pledged to support Ukraine, just as his predecessors did.
