The transfer became possible due to the agreements with Germany.

Slovak Defenсe Minister Jaroslav Nad tweeted that Slovakia provided Ukraine with 30 infantry fighting vehicles. The aid was transferred thanks to an agreement with Germany.

“Glad to confirm that 30 Slovak BMP1 infantry fighting vehicles were donated to Ukraine based on an agreement with Germany. Thanks to Christine Lambrecht for an excellent cooperation,” he said.

In August, the President of Slovakia announced the preparation to provide Ukraine with 30 infantry fighting vehicles. In return, the country was to receive compensation from Germany. The media wrote that it was about 15 German Leopard tanks, ammunition, spare parts and training.
