Iran is the main supplier of resources to Russia to continue the war against Ukraine, the head of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, Kyrylo Budanov, has said this in an interview with Voice of America.
"If you are interested in other countries, as I understand from your question, in fact, almost the only country that actually transfers more or less serious weapons is Iran. I will not tell you anything new about that either," Budanov said.
According to him, there are also unconfirmed report about supplies from North Korea. There have also been no recorded cases of the use of weapons that could have come from the DPRK.
"And, as for other countries, let's say that Russia is just trying to buy anything anywhere. Because they have significant problems. Serbia, which everyone in Russia was hoping for, refused to transfer arms. There are some attempts to buy through third countries, to import weapons on a more or less large scale. Now they are trying this with Myanmar," Budanov added.
For now, he repeated, Russia is limited to Iran in terms of arms supplies.
Budanov also said that Russia is reducing the number of missiles it uses in its attacks on Ukraine due to a decrease in its stockpile. He added that, in his opinion, China would not agree to transfer arms to Russia.
