For the last 24 hours, militants fired on the Ukrainian positions in the antiterrorist operation area (ATO) in Donbas 50 times. They used particularly weapons, which are forbidden by the Minsk agreements, ATO press centre reports on Facebook.

"The hottest" was the area near Avdiyivka. Terrorists fired on the ATO strongpoints 15 times with 120mm and 82mm mortars. Moreover, they used repeatedly grenade launchers, large-calibre machine guns and small arms.

Militants also tried to take one of the strongpoints by storm there. Servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces returned the fire and saboteurs of the terrorists comprising six people were made to retreat. In the Donetsk sector, the shooting was near the Butovka mine, Luhanske, Peski, Opytne and Zaytsevo.

Other front areas were not calm either.

Near Novotroyitske, separatists used 120mm mortars and anti-tank guided missiles. In the Mariupol sector, militants fired on the positions near Maryinka, Shyrokino and Taramchuk with grenade launchers, machine guns and small arms.

"Ukrainian servicemen opened fire several times to keep their positions. In general, the situation is difficult but under control," the message writes.

As reported before, yesterday servicemen of the 72th separate guards mechanised brigade countered an attack near Dokuchayevske.
