ATO HQ: Avdiyivka remains epicentre of hostilities
Over 20 shooting attacks have been registered since last midnight.
Since the midnight, pro-Russian militants have launched 24 shooting attacks at the positions of the antiterrorist operation (ATO) forces in Donbas, which is less than yesterday.
Avdiyivka remains the epicentre of armed hostilities. Here the mercenaries fired with mortars eight times and a 122-mm artillery once, the ATO HQ said.
The Ukrainian army's strongpoints in Leninse and Optyne were fired at. Luhanske was pounded with infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and machine guns.
In the Mariupol sector, militants opened fire with grenade launchers and small arms near Maryinka, Vodyane and Hranitne. Snipers were operating in the area. Shooting was registered near Tryokhizbenka, Luhansk Region.
Servicemen several times returned fire, including with an infantry fighting vehicle.
Engagements in the industrial zone of Avdiyivka have been happening since early March. Separatists are seeking to restore control over their lost positions which currently allow the ATO troops to keep the Donetsk-Horlivka motorway under their fire control.
Four Ukrainian troops were wounded in the ATO area in Donbas yesterday.
