Over the past day, two Ukrainian soldiers were easily wounded by Russian-backed militants in Donbas.

The situation in the area of ATO remains tense as the militant forces escalate fire activity along the entire contact line. The enemy is increasingly using artillery and other weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements, ATO headquarters reported on Wednesday, 15 November.

Over the past 24 hours, militants 23 times opened fire on the positions of Ukrainian armed forces. About ten armed provocations involved the use of artillery, mortars and a tank. In addition, militants shelled front-line settlements, mostly after dark.

In the Luhansk sector, the opposite party fired 152-mm rocket and cannon artillery at the defenders of Zaitseve. Over the period of about two hours the enemy released released about a hundred shells, one of which hit a home of local residents ta 34 Kolyadenko St.

Also in this sector, militants fired 120-mm mortars at the ATO troops stationed outside Lozova, and used 82-mm mortars to shell Ukrainian positions near Novhorodske and Luhanske. The strongpoints outside Novhorodske were shelled by a tank.

In the Donetsk sector, antagonist released over ten 120-mm mortar projectiles at Verhnetoretske.

All along the frontline, the enemy used the entire range of infantry weapons, including Ukrainian troops stationed in front-line settlements in Luhansk and Donetsk regions – Svitlodarsk, Troyitske, Novhorodske, Krasnohorivka, Starohnativka, Novotroyitske and Avdiyivka.

Ukrainian troops consistently returned fire.

On Monday, two Ukrainian soldiers were reported wounded in Donbas.
