Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has said that five people should be held responsible for the murder of five-year-boy Kyrylo Tlyavov in Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy, Kyiv Region.

He told journalists there were four drunk people who were adjusting a rifle in the back yard, including two civilians and two policemen.

"In my opinion, there should be five suspects in this murder [case]: four men, an investigation will show who made a shot… and a wiman who hid this rifle and thus assisted in covering up the crime," Avakov said.

Beore this incident, both suspected policemen were dismissed from service but managed to get reinstated by court.

According to the minister, the Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy police had staffing problems.

Five-year old Kyrylo Tlyavov died in a Kiev hospital from a gunshot wound to the head on 3 June.

The boy was in a grave condition after he was wounded outside his house in Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy on 1 June. The two policemen suspected of the crime were detained and arrested for 60 days.

The boy covered in blood was found by his family and rushed to hospital. He underwent a surgery and was transported to Kyiv. Doctors have been fighting for his life for two days but could not extract a bullet from his head.
