The Centre for Political and Legal Reform and Reanimation Package of Reforms will hold a news conference, "Constitution: new sociology, risks and ways of protection", at Gorshenin Institute on 26 June ahead of Ukraine's Constitution Day.
The speakers will present the latest sociological survey conducted by the Razumkov Centre together with the Democratic Initiatives Foundation, to check Ukrainians' knowledge of the constitution and its role in the life of the state. Experts will compare the latest polls with those conducted in 2015 and analyse the dynamics over the past four years. In particular:
● how many Ukrainians have read the Constitution of Ukraine;
● who, according to citizens, is the source of power in Ukraine;
● in which cases state officials may violate the constitution;
● how much citizens trust the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
The speakers will talk about the problems the Constitutional Court of Ukraine faces in the process of defending the constitution and how it defends its own right to make independent decisions.
