The Cabinet of Ministers has dismissed Maksym Nefyodov from the post of deputy minister for economic development and trade and appointed him head of the State Customs Service.
"The task is to prevent the influence of various law-enforcement agencies on the processes in the customs service. I suppose that there could be acts of provocation, defamation and much more... But when there is a good reputation, everything can be done at a quality level," Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said.
The cabinet also approved a strategy for reforming the tax and customs services.
After Nefyodov's appointment, the Tax Service will be registered as a legal entity, at least 30% of employees of the State Fiscal Service will be transferred to the customs service, and the Cabinet of Ministers is to issue a resolution on the commissioning of a new service.
