Kyiv, 8 October: A survey by the sociological group Rating has found that only 19% f respondents support lifting the ban on the sale of farmland while 73% are against this initiative and 8% are undecided.
Survey results show that 74% of respondents said that the decision to allow the sale of farmland should be put up to an all-Ukrainian referendum, whereas 17% have the opposite opinion.
Some 58% said that farmland should be owned by the state, like in Canada or Israel, 22% prefer the Italian model, where arable land can be sold and bought, and 20% of respondents could not make up their mind.
The survey was conducted among 2,000 Ukrainians aged 18 and above, using the face-to-face method, from 28 September to 1 October 2019.
