President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed businessman Maksym Kutsyy new head of the Odesa regional state administration.
The introduction took place during Ukraine's Defender Day events.
Kutsyy is an end beneficiary of several Kyiv-based firms, including Service and Management Ltd (construction), Media Partner (advertising), Digital Partnership (information services), City Corpus (construction). Last year he earned 3.7m hryvnyas, which means he earned over 300,000 hryvnyas a month on average.
Kutsyy has not been a public person.
He thanked Zelenskyy for trust and promised to make sure Odesa and the region live up to their name of a "pearl by the sea".
"My door is always open to all: servicemen, representatives of NGOs, religious confessions, common citizens. Let us make our country better together. Let us work together. Glory to Ukraine!" Kutsyy said.
Previous administration head Maksym Stepanov resigned in April.
