The chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ivan Bakanov, and the delegation of the US Atlantic Council have discussed counteraction to Russian hybrid threats and general security cooperation, the SBU press service has said.
"During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and directions in mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, in particular, in the context of countering hybrid threats from Russia," it said.
Special attention at the meeting was paid to security reform, including in the SBU.
"We have already begun to move to the new principles of special service operations, and the new 'law 'On Security Service of Ukraine' will establish them definitively. In this process the reforming experience and support of international partners is important to us," Bakanov said.
