In the occupied city of Melitopol, the Zaporizhzhia region, children are forced to wear St. George's ribbons and learn poems about the war.
This was announced by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Lyudmyla Denisova.
"Such actions are committed by school principals who cooperate with the occupying forces," Denisova said.
According to her, teachers are distributing children's thematic drawings and videos of schoolchildren reciting poems about the war with St. George's ribbons on their chests.
"There is information that this is done without the consent of parents," - said the Commissioner for Human Rights.
These actions violate Article 29 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which stipulates that a child's education should be aimed at fostering respect for the child's parents, cultural identity, language, and national values of the country in which the child resides. This is direct evidence of genocide against the Ukrainian people.
On May 5, the director of the Melitopol Museum of Local Lore confirmed that the Scythian gold had been taken out of the facility by the occupiers.
