The EU has decided to invite Ukraine to join the Convention on the Procedure of Joint Transit and the Convention on the Simplification of Formalities in Trade in Goods, the State Customs Service of Ukraine announced this on Facebook.
"Today, 7 July 7, the EU-CTC working group at its 187th meeting decided to invite Ukraine to the Convention on the Procedure of Joint Transit, to add the 36th country to the Convention, which is Ukraine, and to invite Ukraine to join the Convention on the Simplification of Formalities in Trade in Goods," it said.
According to the head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine, Vladyslav Suvorov, this decision was a result of considering the conclusions of the EU final evaluation mission, which took place on 23-24 June 2022.
EU4PFM customs expert Vytenis Alisauskas noted that the international application of the joint transit system in Ukraine may start as early as 1 December 2022.
