On 16 May and during the night of 17 May, units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces struck a number of key Russian military targets in the Moscow Region.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian-developed systems were used to strike the targets: RS-1 Bars, FP-1 Firepoint, BARS-SM GLADIATOR and others.
“We extend our gratitude for their effective combat operations to the soldiers of the 412th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade, the 107th Kremenchuk Rocket Artillery Brigade, the 19th Saint Barbara Missile Brigade, the 1st Separate Unmanned Systems Centre and other representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and all security and defence forces,” the statement reads.
In particular, the Angstrem facility in Zelenograd, Moscow Region, which is involved in the production of microelectronics, radio-electronics, optical systems and robotics for high-precision weapons, was struck. A fire was reported at the site.
Also in the Moscow Region, the Solnechnogorskaya pumping station was hit; this is a critical part of the ring oil pipeline around Moscow and is used for the pumping, storage and shipment of large volumes of petrol and diesel fuel, including for the Russian army. A fire was reported at the site.
Among other targets, a Russian command post in the Bunhe area of the Donetsk Region and Russian UAV control centres in the Dvorichna area of the Kharkiv Region, Zavitne in the Kherson Region and Udachne in the Donetsk Region were struck.
In addition, Ukrainian troops struck Russian troop concentrations in the areas of Myrne in the Donetsk Region, Krasnogorsk in the Zaporizhzhya Region and Volfinskiy in the Kursk Region of the Russian Federation, as well as two Russian concentrations in the Novokonomichne area of the Donetsk Region.
