The president said that his priorities for 2016 included ensuring peace and Ukraine's return to Donbas.
"In 2016, our sovereignty over the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions must be restored," he said.
The struggle to bring Crimea back is his another priority, he said. The president is planning to initiate an international mechanism of deoccupying the peninsula.
In Poroshenko's words, the best format would be "Geneva+the EU, the USA and, possibly, the signatories to the Budapest Memorandum [providing security assurances to Ukraine's accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons]".
