US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker may meet Russian presidential adviser Vladislav Surkov in early spring to negotiate a solution for Ukraine's Donbas, a source familiar with preparations for their meeting has told Interfax.
"It was decided to develop this negotiating format, meetings will continue. Next time Volker and Surkov may meet in March," he said.
There is neither a specific date nor place yet.
"The sides are preparing files for the next meeting. Various venues are being considered. Dubai has not been confirmed yet in this repeat capacity," the source said.
Last time Voker and Surkov met in Dubai on 26 January. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said that the meeting had produced no results.
