Yellowish snow fell in the southern districts of Odesa Region on the morning of 23 March, according to the local news website Dumskaya.
The Izmayil mayor's office said that the samples were sent to the Danube hydrometeorological observatory and the Odesa test centre of the State Service for Food Safety and Customer Protection for tests.
Experts said that the samples had neutral acidity. The unusual colour of the snow was due to sandy and clay particles, which were brought by the recent strong winds from Northern Africa.
There is no danger to people, animals or plants.
