The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has opened a pre-trial investigation in to the recent visits to Russia by the founder of the Opposition Platform-For Life party, Yuriy Boyko, and its political council chairman Viktor Medvedchuk.

The Security Service of Ukraine is holding a pre-trial investigation over signs of crimes described by Article 110 (encroachment on territorial integrity) and Article 111 (high treason) of the Criminal Code.

The Kyiv Forensic Institute of the Justice Ministry is checking the files of their visit to Moscow.

In early June, Boyko and Medvedchuk visited St Petersburg to discuss Russian gas supplies to Ukraine with Gazprom CEO Aleksey Miller.
