A court in Kyiv has changed a pretrial restriction measure for the editor in chief of the RIA Novosti Ukraine news agency, Kyrylo Vyshynskyy, from arrest to release on personal recognizance.
The judge ruled that "the previous decision shall be cancelled, the defence appeal granted and the measure of restraint changed from detention in a Kiev remand centre to personal recognizance," the judge said.
Vyshynskyy was released immediately in the court chamber.
He is suspected of high treason.
