Over the past month, the national cyber defence system has fended off 11 cyber-attacks, one of them against the official website of the Ukrainian president, the secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, Oleksiy Danilov, has said.
"You may guess where these attacks come from. Our banking system faces constant attacks, as well as certain resources of the presidential office. The president's website has recently been attacks, this was two weeks ago. Hardly anyone noticed the failure because it was very promptly localized," he said.
Danilov added that the Ukrainian cyber defence forces coped with the attacks.
"We have three specialized teams working 24/7/365, fending off these attacks. They happen on a daily basis. This is the weapon of the future, it cannot be seen or felt, but it is a very sensitive thing. And the president pays very much attention to it," Danilov said.
