Russia may try to commit a large-scale offensive operation from Izum to Dnipro, writes The New York Times with a reference to the sources in the Pentagon.

The representatives of the US defense establishment made such a conclusion because of the significant massing of Russian troops in the Kharkiv region. In particular, the satellite images show a 13-km column of Russian military equipment next to Velykyy Burluk village to the east of Kharkiv.

On Friday, at the media briefing, the representative of the Pentagon admitted the possibility of Russian attacks in the south and in the southeast because of their concentration in the Kharkiv region. The goal is to get deeper into Donbas.

However, on Sunday the US officials changed their outlook and started to talk about the possibility of Russians attacks not only in the strategically important cities of Donbas but also in Dnipro because of their concentration near Izum. The distance between Izum and Dnipro is 170 km.

On 10 April 2022, the Russian occupiers made another missile attack on the Dnipro region. They attacked the airport in Dnipro.
