The Russian missile strikes on energy infrastructure in 11 Ukrainian regions and Kyiv on the morning of 10 October has caused power outages nearly all over the country. The government and responsible agencies have launched an operational plan to restore the damaged facilities, Prime Minister Dmytro Shmyhal has said.

According to him, most of the energy infrastructure facilities will be restored today. Some will start working tomorrow.

"Power supply has already been restored in the city of Sumy, the process is underway in Zhytomyr and Kharkiv. A schedule of emergency shutdowns has been introduced in Kyiv, Kyiv Region, Chernihiv Region, Cherkasy Region and Zhytomyr Region," he noted.

He urged Ukrainians to limit electricity consumption, especially in the evening, while the repair works are underway.

"If possible, do not turn on the most energy-consuming appliances (electric heaters, boilers, electric stoves, microwaves, washing machines, electric kettles, coffee makers, irons). This will reduce the load on our energy system and allow us to restore the infrastructure as quickly as possible," he said.
